Public release of Zoning Code Public Draft 2.0 + Proposed Zoning Map - January, 2026

Public Draft 2.0 of the Zoning Code has been released, as well as the proposed Zoning Map. You can download a copy of the draft and the proposed map on the Presentations + Reports page.

There is also a memorandum on the Presentations + Reports page that describes the changes to the Zoning Map. The majority of districts have been renamed, but limited areas are proposed for a more substantive change. The memorandum describes those areas and an additional map outlines their locations.

Camiros, the Village’s consultant, will present Public Draft 2.0 to the Planning + Zoning Commission at a Workshop on January 28, 2026 at 6pm (Village Hall). As you review the document and the map, please leave us your comments for consideration. We look forward to your feedback!

Note: The code draft is dated November 2025, as that is the date revisions began to create Draft 2.0. The draft has only been publicly released on January 5, 2026.

Technical Review Report Released! July 2, 2024

The Village of Brookfield is excited to announce the start of our update process for the Village’s Zoning Code. This process will help to shape the future of the Village and modernize our current regulations to reflect the needs and aspirations of residents, businesses, and stakeholders.  

This process will begin with the public release of the Technical Review Report. The Report presents an overview of the current zoning regulations and identifies where there are issues with their application as well as where they can be improved to meet the Village’s goals and aspirations. It also introduces concepts and regulatory approaches that set direction for substantive updates to be included in the new Zoning Code. The consultant, Camiros, will present an overview of the Report at the following meetings:
+ July 17, 5:30pm – Economic Development Commission
+ July 25, 7pm – Planning and Zoning Commission
